“My Lucky Day”
DoReDos are a folk-pop group founded in 2011 consisting of Marina Djundiet, Eugeniu Andrianov and Sergiu Mîta. All three singers grew up in the small town of Rybnitsa, Moldova where they met. They decided to form a group together which was initially named Art Band before being changed to DoReDos in 2015.
The group’s history with the Eurovision Song Contest began when they attempted to represent Moldova at the 2015 Eurovision Song Contest. They entered O Melodie Pentru Europa (Moldova’s national selection to choose a song for Eurovision) with the song “Maricica” and finished in sixth place overall. In 2016 they returned to the show with the song “FunnyFolk” finishing in fourth place in the grand final.
Last year, the trio participated in New Wave 2017, a competition held in Sochi for young performers from all over the world. DoReDos went on to win the competition and their performance caught the eye of Phillip Kirkorov (who represented Russia at the Eurovision Song Contest back in 1995).
Phillip went on to compose the extremely catchy song “Lucky Day” for the trio which became their entry for O Melodie Pentru Europa earlier this year. DoReDos were the outright favourite of the competition and went on to win the maximum twelve points from both the juries and the televote. You can watch them perform on stage in Lisbon on Thursday 10 May in the second semi-final of the Eurovision Song Contest.
